	Sometimes one little groove just seems to inspire other musicians. The acoustic guitar groove in this song is one of my favorites, not only for what it is, but because of the way everybody played off of it. Cody, Pat, and Ron took a very repetitive groove and made it super interesting.

	There is no genre on this site where this song belongs. If you have any ideas, let me know. It was written on acoustic guitar with a very melodic vocal line, about an octave higher than it was recorded. Once I laid the sequence to tape, I had very little time to finish the song, and a serious cold. So I did my best Leonard Cohen impression. When I came back to the studio the following day to mix it, I thought I'd try it once in a falsetto. That ended up being the harmony line.

	I love the era of music that 'Daisy' is so reminiscent of. I grew up listening to my Dad sing Buddy Holly songs. What I love even more, is that the guitar and vocals are one live take. The first take. Elizabeth Raum did the only overdubs, on oboe, in less than an hour. It's so natural and loose. I'm glad it was never over-produced.
