This is a work for malletkat midi percussion controller and interactive computer music system. It was inspired by a fever-induced dream that I had as a child, in which the traditional Dickensonian images of Christmas were transformed and melded into something very mysterious and somewhat dark. |

This piece uses an autoharp that has been radically retuned. The buttons have been removed, allowing the strings to be both struck with percussion mallets, and played with a violin bow. Pickups have been placed inside the resonating chamber, and the sound is processed to create a continuously evolving, undulating loop. |
