NEWSFLASH:TWO DAYS AGO CECIL WATSON OF ALPINE TEXAS CONTACTED ME WITH A RECORDING OF HUGE IMPORTANCE. THE FIRST EVER RECORDED EVIDENCE OF SHORTWAVE BROADCASTS OF LIVE THICK PRACTICE SESSIONS FROM THE MICK FEELY COMPOUND OUTSIDE EL PASO. WARNING!!!!!!!!!:LISTEN AT LOW VOLUME!!(BeelzebubCountryClub(shortwaveintercept)may be posted today?check below)
My name is Chuck. This site is dedicated to THICK-the Kings of Texas Schwag Rock. I first saw THICK play in Englewood way back:)in '94. Mick Feely threw his bass through a window, Ric Diculus farted the Star Spangled Banner. I was hooked. I have aquired permission from Blackburn Productions to post these recordings. After purchasing these recordings
from a source that will remain nameless, I decided to upload them on MP3.com simply because this is history. TRUE UNDERGROUND ROCK HISTORY. Recorded in Bellingham WA 1991, after Mr. Blackburn had made what he thought were his final decisions on the band's line-up, these are the first practice sessions for the legendary "heavy metal jam band" that has now
grown beyond the rumors and the constant attacks by outside forces and become something greater than the sum of its parts. We who are fans have heard the live albums(including the Live@My Rocks in Paris(album cover pictured at right)and the New Years Juarez Performance, which is also on MP3.com, posted by my now good friend, Melvin O. Yaylo. I am a true
fan who only brings these gems of the original THICK line-up in order to bring you closer to the experience and truth. it is trully amazing to hear these songs before they evolved into the classics that they are today. Thank you and enjoy, Chuck.

LISTEN AT LOW VOLUME!intercepted on shortwave and recorded by a man named Cecil Watson of Alpine, Texas. THIS IS A TREAT!! Obviously a rehearsal at the Mick Feely Compound outside El Paso. THICK is said to broadcast any rehearsals at the Compound out of tradition, but this is the first solid evidence that I've ever heard. LISTEN CAREFULLY!! This a very rough recording done with a sony dictaphone type recorder. i've done my best to master it out with the little compression i have but it's still very hard to listen to. |
