News Update, February 2003: I have just had four instrumental compositions published, adding to the five vocal tunes published with two different firms in 2002!

Next month, I will be able to tell you the name of the company that added my four jazzy tunes to its catalog, but for now I am sworn to secrecy, until the contracts are signed!

	My friend, drummer Sherman Ferguson, was Pat Martino's sideman back in the Philly days, when Pat was tearin' it up and hanging with Wes Montgomery and charting a new course for jazz guitar. This tune is my combination portrait and present to him, and I think that the chorus especially catches the beautiful but angular and unpredictable nature of his playing. I sent two CDs of it to Pat's manager recently (early 2003) and he dug it, and sent one along to Pat. I will ask Pat in person if he's listened to it yet, because in early March Sherman will be sitting in with Pat in an L.A. show. What a treat!
