A song about the hard life in the sertao. An old woman sees the rains coming and scrambles the family to start planting and she reminises of the blood sweat and tears shed to survive in the area. She speaks of gypsies, theives and jaguars stealing the livlihood of the family and wonders if it is worth it all and in the end it is always "vamo plantar o fejao no po" or let's go plant the beans in the dust". |
