Tango fever hit Paris in 1910. It soon spread to London, Berlin and other European capitals. Banned by the authorities and church in Germany for its exotic, sultry air and sexual innuendo, the tango quickly gained popularity. Already in 1913 the operetta entitled "The Tango Princess" fueled enthusiasm for the dance and many operettas and films of the '10s, '20s and '30s followed in its wake: "The Tango Queen", "Tango at Midnight", "A Tango for You", etc. | MP3.com CD: Coffee house music - buy it!
