Third Level started as a studio project band in Avon, Minnesota. Over the past two years their music has taken on a life of it's own and has become a favorite of many European listeners on besonic.com. Producer/writer Doug Millaway's passion for expansive and lush music scores and Rob Denton's free-form, impressionistic guitar style have come together to create a unique and enigmatic form of jazz fusion. Both Rob and Doug have been playing and performing for three decades and music is a vital part of their lives and a way of maintaining their sanity. Rob has received great reviews for his recent work with Third Level and has been listed as a top player on Guitar players World.com in the Netherlands. Jazz Review.com said: Third Level is an interesting fusion of styles; incorporating on contemporary and commercial jazz and instrumental rock, Blue Ginger puts forth an enjoyable sampling of compositions that integrate lots of guitar sounds, electronic bits and bytes and funky beats and samples. Originally a studio project, Third level developed a strong European listenership and now has begun to make waves here. The collaboration between the talented Rob Denton (guitars) and Doug Millaway (keys/sounds/scores) has yielded lush soundscapes decorated with Denton’s freeform guitar work, with it's many tones and styles that exhibit strong rock soul. Reviewed by: Fred 'Starr' Gerantab. Rob - I did enjoy your CD very much. Keep up the music, it's only a matter of time before another awakening will come and people will begin to realize this aspect of the art form again. Thanks, Fred @ jazz review.com. Rob, " Your music is much cooler than we are...we can only aspire to that level of mellow. It may not happen in this lifetime. Please keep up the good work... Thanks again." Sincerely, Shadoe Stevens. Renowned guitarist, Jan Akkerman (Focus) was delighted with Rob’s recent CD, “Blue Ginger”. Jan has requested more music!

As a guitar player, I am exploring both old and new ideas. In this tune I have returned to 1976 and use some of Jeff Beck's vintage tone and feel, and this tune pays a tribute to one of my main guitar influences. |
