I wrote this song in the dark of the night after the end of a tumultuous relationship. I was hurting pretty badly and needed some support from something other than myself. I decided to sing to an angel - a patient confidant when one doesn't want to impose on others. The song also examines what I sometimes believe is the futility of my life, my harsh and negative self-perspective, and is an acknowledgment of the patterns that my relationships have formed.

I wrote this song after spending one afternoon having a lengthy conversation with an asshole whom I, unfortunately, had a crush on.

This song is about falling in love with people who belong to someone else. I was no exception to the rule. This person had crossed my path before. We connected. So, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't stop my feelings towards him. This song was an attempt to get control of my emotions so that I wouldn't make a fool of myself everytime we crossed paths. I thought if I allowed myself to feel all the feelings in the privacy of my own room, then I would be able to conduct myself reasonably the rest of the time... of course the emotions just expanded. It was like turning wind on a fire.
