Daddy Teacha
Originally
hailing from the midlands, "Daddy" Teacha arrived in
Plymouth with a firm Reggae background, and coupled with
influences from the soul and house styles of music, has succeeded
in producing his very own stylised and professional repertoire.
Teacha has, performed at such venues as the Cornwall Coloseum,
major universities, Plymouth theatre royal, Plymouth Pavillions,
Exeters st Georges hall, Glastonbury, Plymouth Heineken Festival,
and many variously sized venues around the south and southwest.
Teacha has performed with/worked with and supported many well
known acts including; Pato Banton, John Mclean, UK Apache, Sugar
Minott, the Heptones, Desmond Decker, Burning Spear, Macka B, The
Disciples, and many more. Teacha has enjoyed working as a Radio
Presenter, and has been a regular member of Radio Avalon (the
official Glastonbury Festival Radio Station) for the past 6
years. Teacha has enjoyed getting airplay with Plymouths "Watershed",
on radio one with Andy Kershaw, Kiss FM, top ten play listing on
in Germany, and airplay and interviews for many other national and
international radio stations. Teacha has performed for a U.K.
West Country Television production, and in the past has performed
regularly abroad, in such places as Montego Bay (Jamaica), the
Canary islands, Canada, and around Euroupe.
Record releases include works with a number of Labels and artists,
including Germanys Di Iries, Tanty Records and UK's
Alpha and Omega, enjoying distrubution in Europe, Japan and
the US. Teacha enjoys many various types of music from rock to
classical, but the heart lies with Roots, Dub and Lovers rock reggae.
Recent collaborations include recording with/for IrationSteppas
and Vibronics. Inclusion on the new "ROOTS OF DUB FUNK 3" from
Tanty records label, the 7" release of "Into the Promised land" with
Germany's THE UPTONES on the Sound Navitagor/Ire HiFi Label, and the
release of TEACHA'S first Dub album "BURNING DUB".
