	This is surely one of Chopin's most eloquent creations, brief though itis. A gentlly re-iterated figure in the left hand supports the oddly melancholy melody in the right, which conveys sadness in spite of the major key. This gives way to an ardent middle section where Chopin seems to codify longing and heartbreak with extraordinary, even transcendent compositional economy.
