an explanation: two keys points
|
::: duophone is not a typical band. we do not write songs (by the traditional definition), we don't usually sing, a lot of our songs don't go anywhere. we use dynamics (and no, a soft verse and a loud chorus doesn't quite qualify to be called "dynamics"). our pieces are long and morphing. they require a good attention span and a desire to analyze what is being listened to. we hope you can appreciate these things and, in the end, appreciate what we do.
::: duophone is an experimental project. we write the music we write because the concepts behind the pieces intrigue us. we improvise instead of passively writing because of the idea that none of this was planned excites us. we do it cause we want to be able to perform, unlike many electronic artists on mp3.com. yes, this is pretentious and cocky. we don't give a shit. we hope you like it anyway. |
