MICHAEL JAHNZ is the former frontman for REO Speedwagon founder and guitarist Gary Richrath, who sold over 40 million albums writing and performing such monster hits as "Ridin' the Storm Out," and "Take It on the Run." They joined forces in 1989, combining Richrath's amazing guitar talent with the remarkable voice of Jahnz. After touring non-stop for several years, Crescendo Records released Only the Strong Survive in 1992, where Jahnz penned half of the songs. Now blazing his own trail, Jahnz has released PROJECT 3:13 on the ProFound Sound label, delivering just the right combination of hard rockers and power ballads that highlight his dynamic vocal talent. Here's what critics are saying about the new Michael Jahnz CD:
"Jahnz proves he is a strong writer of power rock that's fit for arena's with soaring chords and skyrocketing solos."John Noyd Maximum Ink Music Magazine
July, 2000
"EXTREMELY smooth West-coast AOR from the one-time Gary Richrath vocalist, one play was all it took to convince me of Michael's abundance of talents. From his soaring vocals to his "from the heart" songwriting, the positive attitude brought forth is refreshing. Whether it's psuedo-arena rockers ("Simple Minds" and "Hearts On Fire") or grand ballads (the HUGE "I Found In You" and "After All") there's a lot to praise here. There's even hints of 80's Yes in "Thinkin' About You". Songs that feel familiar on first listen yet have a depth that keeps you coming back for more is becoming quite rare these days, but Michael seems to have found the magic formula... Overall if I needed one word to describe this disc, "classy" would be it... This stands miles beyond the rest."Kurt Torster, Editor SFK Magazine
