Dixie Jass Band One-Step; Dixieland Jass Band One-Step - that was in 1917 in New York with director, cornetist Nick LaRoca. It is said to be the first jazz recording. In the line-up with LaRocca were, Eddie Edwards, Larry Shields, Henry Ragas, Tony Sbarbaro, all White New Orleanians. Two decades later, the titled track is by the Original Dixieland Band, and there's all to play for on this MP3.com version by the Rhythm Aces of Max Collie. |
