While the title is hot on the heels of Ricky Martin's own "loca" hit, this piece was actually written back in '97. After an intensive year with William Paterson University's Latin Band, which included performing with the world-renown bassist Andy Gonzales and flutist Dave Valentin, I came up with this fiery big band arrangement. |

Fever's fiery focal point is the monophonic synth lead gliding over a funky world beat consisting of electric guitar, piano, bass, conga, and drum kit. The bass ostinato under the main melody adds to the world feel of this piece, while the few instances of wah-wah guitar brings in the funk. |

This song is my tribute to Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. The impact this amazing group has had on me not only inspired me to play bass more creatively, but to also learn the banjo. If you enjoy the Flecktones, I trust you will enjoy Bela's Folktune. |
