Artist History 1/3 less hype, twice the phat, and all natural, The Wood puts a new twiston the Atlanta music scene with their unique blend of rap, funk-rock andjazzy-hip-hop. With origins literally spanning the globe, The Wood gottheir start in State College, PA, circa 1996, where they quicklyestablished a loyal fan-base, playing to packed houses all over thisparty-driven, college town. In the summer of 1997, they released theirfirst EP, Titanic Groove, under limited distribution. Jim Price of ThePennsylvania Musician, rated the EP 9.1 on a scale of 10 and said, "the EPis a lively display of what they have to offer...and gives you plenty tocelebrate...laying it heavy on the spice and the sauce".In the summer of 98 bass guitarist Max Forstater moved to Atlanta to rock and roll in a bigger scene. After a year of touring the country with the Gibb Droll Band, Forstater convincedGuitarist, Tom Addonizio and front man, Chad Greeley to make themove to Hotlanta!With the addition of their fly guy DJ C on the wheels of steel and the welcomeincorporation of longtime musical comrade and maestro Tim Garwood, the Wood is full on in Atlanta and packing the house.
