Artist History
Put together as a session band, the Quintet was broughttogether by Rob Barics as a means to explore his own musical compositions. Always concentrating on the swing of the music, this group is based on the emotionand passion, rather than the heady academic approachcommon to most straight ahead groups. The idea isto have fun and not over-intellectualize the music.Rob Barics has spent his time as a musician, over thelast 18 years, learning about swing and passion. He hastoured nationally and internationally with the leadingjazz musicians of his time, including Wynton Marsalis,Jon Faddis, Clark Terry, Marcus Roberts, Marcus Printup,Wes Anderson, Joshua Redman and Wycliff Gordon. Rob bringsto this quintet a passion for the swing, and has chosenthe right vehicle in The Quintet. Enjoy! |
