Artist History
Born in Bangor, Maine. Lived in that little town for a long time. Took cello, then flute, then voice, then piano lessons. Sang in a lot of choirs. Ended up being half decent at music, and got a bunch of awards. Had a fight with art teacher about direction of very serious art future. Chose music. Cut a solo album at age 17 to get foot in door. Was scouted by small label in Providence, RI. That failed miserably. Started own label, Doubleseven Records. Started own promotions company, Wink! Artist Management (not-for-profit). Has lived in Providence for 5 years now, recorded a live disc "Tablescraps" and studio CD "Who's My Mr. Kitty." Went on tour in 2000, Maine to Miami. Dreams of touring in Europe and making songs that mean something. Currently recording triple-disc series 1:Living Spaces, 2:Portable Self, 3:We think they love you. Disc one to be released in early 2002! |

Press Reviews
"Powered by piano, some memorable melodies, and plentiful attitude, Andrews spans the gap that bridges Ben Folds and Tori Amos....When all is said and done, Andrews impresses with her utter courage and audacity. As she veers from hip-hop to Tin Pan Alley to pop and ambient, you begin to feel the pulsating heart at the center of her artistry. There's no telling where she'll end up, but that's part of the excitement of Serena Andrews."
