Artist description
Driven by the imagination of award winning composer and jazz pianist Kevin Kirk, Onomatopoeia provides a truly unique musical experience for today's listener. Five seasoned instrumentals, who have platinum and gold records plus international tours to their credit, have come together to create a delightfully eclectic blend of musical styles. Joining the jazz piano talents of Kirk are Sara Williams on Flute and Tom Tompkins on viola, MIDI violin, mandolin, flute and keyboards. Their disiplined musical styles are superimposed over the compelling latin grooves inspired by drummer/percusionist Patrick Kurdy, and the exceptional bass performances of Mike Seifrit. Onomatopoeia has toured the Northwest extensively, performed at numerous jazz festivals and its currently recording its seond CD of all original music. |

Press Reviews
Gannett Press:"The music is everything fans of the 4 year-old band could hope for: rhythmically diverse, musically challenging and eminently listenable. The pleasure starts with the cover. The stunning, award-winning painting by John Killmaster sets up both the complexity of the music and its ability to take listeners to better worlds." David Proctor |
