Artist description
Martin Pugh is one of the most powerful and influential guitar wizards to emerge from the "swinging London blues boom" of the mid 1960's. His fretborad-melting work graced albums by Steamhammer, Armageddon (with Keith Relf of The Yardbirds) 7th Order, and Rod Stewart (recording "Street Fighting Man" alongside future Rolling Stones' guitarist Ron Wood), and solidified his status as one of the originators of modern progressive/rock guitar playing. |

Artist History
Martin began his guitar odyssey with legendary British blues/rockers "Steamhammer" in mid-60's London...after many successful albums and tours, he was recruited by Jeff Beck Group alumni Rod Stewart & Ron Wood to play lead guitar on "The Rod Stewart Album" in 1969. In 1974, Martin formed "Armageddon" with Keith Relf (of The Yardbirds and Renaissance), Louis Cennamo (of Renaissance, Steamhammer, Peter Frampton), and Bobby Caldwell (from Captain Beyond and Johnny Winter). They produced one self titled album on A&M Records in 1975 that fans still regard as one of the most potent progressive/rock records ever made. In recent years, Martin has been fine tuning his skills as a guitar craftsman (making some of the world's finest instruments) and now runs Totem Guitars in Central California. He is currently working on a new musical project with Seattle's "7th Order", feat. Daniel Jones and Geoff Thorpe. |
