Artist History
Born in Boston, MA, in the early 70s, Jonathon lived in the Boston area for much of his life. After attending Emerson College, in the early 90s, he moved to Los Angeles, carrying with him such diverse influences as Marvin Gaye, George Gershwin, Nirvana, Public Enemy and the Rolling Stones.Over the course of his career, he has performed in over 20 different bands including symphonic bands, wind ensembles, orchestras, marching bands, jazz ensembles and rock bands. The past two years, however, have seen Jonathon performing in a variety of settings designed to showcase his original songs, from solo acoustic to small combos to a full band setting featuring two guitars, keys, bass and drums.Jonathon was employed for a time as a songwriter for the Walt Disney Company writing songs for developing shows and projects. He stopped doing that however because let's face it, how many damn songs can you write about a mouse?Since moving to Los Angeles, Jonathon has recorded at Paramount Pictures Studios and has performed at Highland Grounds, Coconut Teaszer and the Roxy, tantalizing the crowds with his full frontal musical assault. On-stage and in the studio, he not only sings but also plays guitar, bass, keyboards, saxophone and drums.A prolific songwriter, Jonathon has written over 200 songs. He is currently armed with a repertoire of 28 songs that rotate in and out of his live set.His ultimate goal is to be a self supporting artist who performs original material and writes songs for other artists. His dream is to somehow find a way to buy every single person in the world a popsicle, in lieu of that, he would settle for just touching them in some way with his music. Popsicle's are kinda expensive. |
