Artist History I cannot remember a time when I wasn't in love with the gift of music. When I was in first grade, my mother began to share with me what she knew about playing the piano. By the time I reached fifth grade she claimed she had taught me all she could and sent me to a dear old lady who steered me in the lessons of the keyboard until I was a junior in high school. While in high school, I was one of the accompanists for our girl's chorus and enjoyed singing in the soprano section when I wasn't playing the piano. But my real love for music blossomed back when I joined our school's youth church choir in the sixth grade. It was (and still is) in church, that God's gift of music is most alive in me. God has given me many opportunities to be involved in the service of music ministry for the Catholic Church. I have sung in traditional church choirs, participated in guitar groups, accompanied several assemblies on piano and organ, and have grown into directing choirs and helping train other music ministerial servants of Our Lord.A very special aspect of serving God comes when He chooses to gift me with a new song. This is something that comes in His time - not mine. It can be in the normal course of an ordinary day, or it can wake me in the midst of a dark night's rest. If the song is good, it is because I listened totally to Him. If the song is not so good, I must have become distracted in writing it down or my own insignificance got in the way. Whatever the scenario, I feel a total sense of awe and wonder when God awakens a new song in me.
