Artist description
This is Americana Rock. Definitely not metal or pop, just compelling and well-written songs. Patty Spiglanin's tremendous voice is back by the riffs of veteran musicians. Certain to interest female vocal enthusiasts. |

Formerly known as The Naked Barbies, Vagabond Lovers have been a Bay Area success story with awards such as the 1996 Whammie for "Best Americana Band." They also were a finalist in the Lilith Fair 1998 Emerging Talent Concert and were the buzz band for SXSW Music Conference. "When I Was You" is their national debut with S.F. indie, Monarch Records. Press Reviews
"The new album is comprised of twelve richly arranged alternative vocal numbers, including a stunning cover of The Cars' "Drive" albeit arranged more lightly to better suit Patty's voice. It is a stunning track and an album highlight. She says, "we often pick covers that were originally sung by men because when a woman sings it, there's a different perspective, a different connotation." Patty has a tremendous voice with a richness, range, power and style certain to warm the hearts of most female vocal enthusiasts." ~ ~ Russ Elliot, Editor-In-Chief of Musical Discoveries |
