Artist description
Possibly Rock 'n Roll's best kept secret, The Lazy Cowgirls have been making their brand of timeless rock for almost 18 years. Although originally labelled as a punk band, the music doesn't really fit that genre, and defies easy categorization. The more recent material in particular encompasses a broad range of influences while still sounding original. The music of The Lazy Cowgirls should be immediately accessible (and loved) by anyone with a rock'n'roll heart. |

Artist History
Originally formed in the early '80s when the founding members moved to LA from Vincennes, Indiana, the first Cowgirls album "The Lazy Cowgirls" was released in 1985 and produced by Chris D. of Flesheaters and Divine Horseman fame. Although there have been several lineup changes through the years, The Lazy Cowgirls have produced numerous critically acclaimed 7 inch records, LP's, and CD's, including "Tapping The Source" (1987), "Radio Cowgirl" (1988), "How It Looks-How It Is" (1990), "Ragged Soul" (1995), "A Little Sex and Death" (1997), and the 1998 EP "Broken Hearted On Valentine's Day". Currently with their strongest lineup yet, The Cowgirls continue to make great rock 'n' roll that shows their myriad of influences, with last year's "Rank Outsider" release, and the new "Somewhere Down The Line" (both on Sympathy for the Record Industry). The Lazy Cowgirls have also always been known as a great, high-energy live band, The Lazy Cowgirls completed their 9th USA/Canada tour earlier this year, and are preparing for a European tour in early 2001. |
