Press Reviews
CD THE CENTURY TURNS SEVEN DAYS .... the collection has a big, reverby sound, occasionally glossy like '80 pop, but with a bit of an edge. His keyboard playing is solid and tasteful. ...the pieces are solidly in place --- certainly enough to make you hope he keeps writing into the next century.BURLINGTON FREE PRESS...smelled a bit Phishy to my ears, but stands as being unique. ...nothing too fancy, but totally competent. ...like good chocolate, semi-sweet.VERMONT TIMES Shifting gears from pop, to blues, to prog, and bar rock, there's a surprising amount of versatility packed into one disc. It's interesting the way that Abair adapts his voice to each song. ... I guess it's a good sign if my main critique is that I want to hear more. Which isn't to say that there isn't enough here, just that it leaves you with the desire to keep listening.MARTIN GUIGUI ( musician and movie director ) ....the vocal performance shows Phil's uniqueness and originality. Keep writing, keep performing, you have no choice now...We all want to hear more.Phil Abair's CD THE CENTURY TURNS released in December on BUMBELINA RECORDS. |
