Artist History The core of The Kari Gaffney Group is Vocalist/Composer Kari Gaffney, and Guitarist/Stand Up Bassist/Pianist Jeff Williams Their professional experience spans 15 years. They have worked together for the past two years. If there were a clear definition of the term Star Potential, it would have to include the name, Kari Gaffney. The demands of the music industry requires a certain tenacity, talent and style that sets the artist apart from the ordinary. Kari possesses these qualities and more. She has the ability to deliver songs with soul stirring emotion, and transcend several different types of audiences due to her style and undeniable vocal ability. Jeff Williams is a multi-instrumentalist whose virtuosity has acclaimed him international appeal. Williams graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Jeff quickly excelled while at Berklee. In fact he was the recipient of the Berklee Achievement Scholarship. (This award is based on performance and compositional skills and is a highly acclaimed award). Jeff, currently teaches for The Augusta Conservatory Program. The Kari Gaffney Group is a tasteful combination of professionalism, talent and musical knowledge. While true to their Jazz/Blues roots, they enjoy in the spirit of Jazz putting their own slant on a variety of Adult Contemporary tunes. The Kari Gaffney Group has performed at many of the top venues nationwide. The House of Blues, Billboard Live, The Concord, The Galaxy Concert Theater, Lincoln Center and The Pocono Blues Festival, to name a few. They have shared the stage with over 25 national touring acts in concert settings. Some have been, Wyclif Gordon, Eddie Daniels, Chris Holiday, Bruce Gerty, James Brown, Lou Rawls, Ray Davies, Koko Taylor, Diane Schuur, Collin Raye, David Gates and John Mayall.
