Press Reviews
Well, I've finally slowed down long enough to review the show that I came down to see on Feb 17th. Though ambient music isn't my favorite kind of music (Ben would say my favorite is Metal...), I do like alot of ambient music (especially around bedtime). I liked Mike's ambient music before but with the addition of VanEric...whoa!! If anyone out there is (and I'm sure most of you are) familiar with Harold Budd's work (the 4-AD's "Moon and the Melodies", for example), you can almost immediately hear the similarities. This is actually kind of wierd since Mike told me that Van Eric isn't familiar with Harold Budd. We love you anyway, Van Eric... Having heard the turn that Mike, Michael, and Van Eric's music is taking, I'm more excited than ever to get their CD when it's released! Needless to say, Van Eric is definately a positive addition to the Shadows on the Moon project and I'm very happy that the three of them are working together (even though Michael's NEVER around anymore... =P ). |
