Artist History
Devil Eye Brown was formed in early 1999. It's founding members met while playing with some other fabulous Bay Area musicians in a band called the Beanweevils. At the same time, Kyra, who's fronted her own bands since 1993, was interested in recording her original material. Paul had also for some time been interested in recording an album of his own ideas, so he and Kyra joined forces. Then Sharky, only the biggest pop star to come out of Isreal since who knows who, decided to help out as well. Paul suggested that Ron, his old friend and bandmate from their previous band called Andiamo (San Francisco's premier instrumental band), engineer the album. Since Ron happened to be the world's best bass player, he kindly volunteered to play on the album, too. The recording evolved into a full-fledged venture involving some really great guest musicians and friends of the band. Devil Eye Brown, along with the help of it's guest musicians, was able to incorporate many wonderful musical influences into their record ranging from country and flamenco to Americana and electronic. The band continues to evolve and explore new ways in which to express their vision and love of music, past, present, and future. They will soon begin recording another album, a four song EP. |
