I am starting to make my vision a reality by matching visually stimulating media to my music. Working in my studio in the Detroit area has had a definite influence on the sound of my music. Artist History
In 1995 I finished my studios at a local trade school for television and broadcast. I started working locally fighting my way through several companies to gain a staff position as an video editor at a GTN a large post production house in the Detroit area. At the time I believe I was the youngest professional video editor in the Metropolitan Detroit. I have worked very diligently over the past few years to try to gain a clientele that complements my creative thinking to come out with good commercials and material. But as all things go I started looking for another outlet and collaborated with some of my friends to form an electronic team named the mantis project. Inspired with the vision that computers and could help me create something musically without having to have mass playing skills excited me. We would spend hours in our makeshift studio in Redford Mi. Trying to come up with tracks and having a great time and we were off. Along down the road came the frustration of many creative differences and life events to make us all rethink what was our next step. In 2000 we did a video mix show over a DJ set by house famed Derrick Carter. The show went very well even though we were not paid everyone was really into it. The big 8-foot screen we had erected entranced even the kids that were just sitting there. I was in charge of the mix over 8 hours of play so it was rough. I did about 6 of the eight hours and had help from former mantis project members Jason Jones and Rudolph Tessmer. I saw the light & decided to go out on my own. My goal was to combine and create a character (so to speak) that uses video to emphasize what I am to convey in my music. That character is I CLC101 and this is the result..... |
