Artist History
Formed in mid '94, Sect.8 recorded the self released 88CM Kanone CD (1996) which was greeted by worldwide critical acclaim from such publications as: Burrn(Japan), Kerrang!(UK), Circus(US) and Metal Hammer(Ger) as well as garnering over 180 adds to Northeast US college radio and charting top 20 over 70 times in CMJ Weekly Journal. They played locally (NYC) and toured the UK in support of the disc which was picked up by a number of national(US) distributors and Tower and Virgin Megastores(UK-who put the disc on listening posts nationwide). Several demo discs were produced throughout 97-98 as the band continued todevelop a local following with appearances @ Cbgb, Arlene Grocery and Brownies, the Peekaboo Festival(NYC) and The MASSS Festival (held by Juice Magazine in Wilmington, NC) as well as spins on WDHA and WRAT in NJ. The buzz continues to grow as Sect.8 took 1st place in the NARAS (Grammy Commitee) sponsored B.U.L.L.E.T Awards in NYC (from a crop of 2000 bands) and appeared on network television (CBS Chan.2) the night of their win. |
