Artist History
MAZARD is comprised of four Colorado natives who have been actively involved in music for years pre-dating the grunge scene... Through some life trials and tribulations with other musicians and experiences, El Duke, Na, Slasa & Ace have been fused together as one entity of seemless hard rock energy. But really, MAZARD has been performing live shows in the Boulder/Denver/Ft. Collins area of Colorado for the past year. Gathering a devoted following along the way, the group promises to entertain and impress with evry action on stage. Looking forward to a new album in 2002, Mazard is still riding the wave of critiques of the self produced album "So Delish..." which was released in the fall of 1999. |

Press Reviews
Full Band Interview at - http://www.maristhegreat.com/interviewmazard.htm Nationally published review of the CD "So Delish..." - Throatculture Mazagine, Issue 3, Vol. 1May, 2001 MAZARD SO DELISH… SELF RELEASE I specifically asked Rod if I could review Mazard's release because this is a great band and I was afraid someone else might not appreciate that. The band is comprised of four of the most talented musicians I've ever heard or seen perform. And unlike some ultra-talented bands that create complex music that is unaccessible to non-musicians, Mazard's music still has all the hooks, solos and well-crafted songs of today's best bands. So what kind of music is Mazard creating? It's an eclectic mix of hard rock, funk, blues, college rock, etc., that really falls into the realm of progressive rock. The only band I could even think of that is remotely similar to Mazard is the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Each song on this album has its own identity and could have been written by a different band, yet it's all held together by the amazing lead vocals and outstanding guitar, bass and percussion playing. Mazard would be the Opeth of the metal world, but they're not metal. And I'm glad I was able to review this CD because I can still appreciate that.
