Artist History
Formed in 1998, Vancouver based Cherrybomb is Jenny Galt (vocals, guitar, piano, harmonica)and Vicky Sjohall (vocals, guitar, tambourine)
Their combustive debut at New Music West 2000 (Vancouver) landed Cherrybomb a demo deal with Virgin Records, working with producer Dave Pickell. This demo sparked widespread interest including the offer of a recording contract. In September 2000 the ladies widened their fan base during a three week European tour that received rave reviews.
Cherrybomb has released four indie albums and recently recorded a powerful and emotive new demo at Greenhouse Studios in Vancouver, B.C. This latest project, combined with some new acoustic recordings displays their diverse yet seamless combination of pretty and driving songs colored by pop, rock and programming. Rivoting lyrics, powerful melodies and breathtaking multi-part harmonies pack venues.
Undeniably talented, indisputably charismatic, Jenny and Vicky have created something that is igniting the music scene.

Press Reviews
Welcome Back Cherrybomb! Just returned from their successful European Tour, local Vancouver band 4 Play thrilled fans at the Backstage Lounge Wednesday evening.Preparing for their new CD release Thursday November 9th at Richards on Richards, 4 Play have added some new members to their 4 woman band.Added backup Drums & Base gave 4 Play?s sound man headaches balancing the mix last night at the Back Stage Lounge! When the mix was right, 4 Play?s crisp, clean vocals and harmonizing are electrifying, but last night was a struggle to ensure the new rhythm section did not overpower 4 Play?s awesome vocal presence.Reminiscent of a youthful ?Fleetwood Mac? these four talented musicians, singers, and songwriters are presently in negotiations with Virgin Records for the promotional backing to make the next step to stardom!Fans expect to hear this new sound on the Tonight Show as soon as the bugs are worked out of their performance but also hope they will be around town for awhile before popularity robs fans of the intimate, casual atmosphere they now enjoy with the band! Go Girls!!News Release & Comment By Bob Bitner, dinet@uniserve.comI look forward to hearing what Georgia Straight music reviewers have to say about this group and trust the performance at Richards on Richards will be memorable!
