However, the name represents a young fivepiece electronic band from the East Coast of the United States of America.With a sound and image that is similar to Duran Duran caught in a lightningstorm, MIV (as they are often affectionately called) combine the futuristicelectronic sound of Europe's dancefloor with the disco rock of the early newwave scene. Compared to such postmodern artists/pioneers as the Utah Saints, the Shamen,and the Underworld, MIV's music twists, shakes, and breaks-down theconventions of today's pop music.

In an alcoholic hazy,mine mind struggled to decipher the spectacle before my eyes. This act, bythe name of Madmen in Vienna, was blasting a rapid fire mixture of techno,euro, and pop to a crowd of day-glo fashion vicitims who danced to everybeat and sang along to every word. As colors rocketted from the lightspositioned behind the band's wall of keyboards, guitars, and drums, thenight exploded in an shimmering array of psychedelics and cyber-choas. This young band were dazzling in their "Blade Runner meets Suede" fashion,styled similarly to what I would imagine Duran Duran would have looked likeif they had started their band at the turn of the century. As their shortset came to close, the moon lifted it's face from behind the cloudly sky andilluminated the street, littered with Paris's new generation.
