Artist description Commercial Minded is Kenneth Carpenter as a composer/performer trying to build a career in commercial advertising or similar media, such as radio or movie/tv sound tracks. Kenneth has a home studio consisting of computer based recording/mastering, complete with effects and a synthesizer workstation, plus a mic. A stereo VHS recorder, with 2 mono VHS players available also, is there for video. Internet is obviously available. Kenneth does not sight read sheet music, but can create it from standard midi files, easily converted. More advanced projects requiring the client to be heard, can be done via sending Kenneth the tracks in a compatible media, or by having everybody meet at a nearby studio, larger than a home based one. Artist History Kenneth Carpenter, since age 13, has been composing, playing keyboard, and doing vocals. Most of the time, he was self-taught. The formal courses he took were a few piano courses, various vocal training from high school into Baldwin Wallace College, and Electronic Music at Baldwin Wallace College(which taught a bit about commercial recording). Kenneth is partially in the band Crooked Pictures (a progressive rock band), and has a side project called "A True Thing" as way to try and make it big as a pop star. This 26 year old is trying to make a living with music, and realizes that with being a keyboardist, having subscribed to keyboard magazine for years(which gives tons of practical knowledge into all music business mediums), commercial type composing/performing seems the best way to go!
