Artist description
Can you define music? You probably have a loose set of personal preferences that you use as your definition. Casper thinks that all noise is music and all music is noise. Our noise can sound not unsimilar to other noises you may be familiar with. Sometimes you will be surprised and, we hope, delighted by fun noises you may never have come across before. In those moments you have the opportunity to redifine your definition of music. |

Artist History
I've been writing and recording songs since before I was interested in girls. Over the past fifteen years I've been in a bunch of bands. Casper & the Cookies is my new band. Every member of the Cookies is in at least one other band. It gets confusing. But the collective experiences and diverse musical backgrounds make the band unique. |

Press Reviews
"She gave me a wonderful set of instructions/That I should just drop in/to wear my coat of puppet skin." With these lines from the Mercury Rev-ish "Country Girl!" -- punctuated by squiggly electronics a la Pere Ubu's Allen Ravenstine -- Jason NeSmith (no relation to the coolest Monkee) ushers us into his delightfully bizarre world. "Little Lamb Is Terminator" is not only a great title but the best song Andy Partidge never wrote and rejected for The Big Express. Skeleton Key will be crestfallen, and They Might Be Jealous at "Statue Of A Boy," but the rest of us can just giggle with idiot glee at this odd-pop masterpiece. - Jim Santo, Demo Universe ---- This home recorded project far exceeds what one normally finds in an independently recorded, produced, and duplicated cassette. Jason NeSmith (no relation to Mike Nesmith) recorded this project in his home studio, and the results are entertaining as hell. The sound quality is excellent, the arrangements inventive and cool...but in the end it's the tunes themselves that make this such an entertaining listen. These tunes are semi-psychedelic pop with hints of a whole slew of bands including the Beatles and 10CC. To top it all off, the vocals and lyrics are downright killer. This package comes inside a surgical glove with a set of twenty bubblegum sized cards containing the lyrics. This is an obscurity worth seeking out. Mr. NeSmith is an obscure artist creating credible, memorable music. – Don W Seven, Babysue |
