Artist description
CODE BLUE is a hometown blues band with New Orleans Styling and Atlanta Drive. Together for five years, they have performed at most of the local music venues including: Blind Willies, The Cotton Club, Underground Atlanta, Decatur Square Summer Series, Sweet Auburn Festivle, Smith's Olde Bar, The Star Bar, Fat Matt's, The Northside Tavern, Darwin's, The Sundance Cafe and many others. With the recent release of their debut CD they have started receiving airplay on WRFG, WREK and Z 93. Their extensive song list includes original music and New Orleans favorites as well as deep blues standards, swing and 50's rock and roll. The band's own compositions, insightful and melodic, blended with their distinctive rendering of "power blues," as wielded by this four-piece powerhouse, produces some of the tightest, heavy blues to be heard anywhere. On stage they weave through a set like skilled craftsmen, from light and airy classics to down home standards and everything in between. When they let loose with a barrage from their soul-searching original compositions the air is charged with electric blues power. With years of "working the crowds" under their belts they give the audience a charismatic show that makes this group of talented musicians unforgettable. |
