Artist History
The three of us, and a drummer (Jim Birtola), started playing together in 1987 as a cover band called EZT. In Nov 1989 a fire destroyed all our equipment, it was after that we decided to drop covers and concentrate on just original music. Started a new band called Hot Rod Taxi with the addition of a new drummer (Ken Adamson). In 1991 we added a lead singer (Dean Keith) as our 5th member. Went on to record an 8-song album under an Independent Record label called NutHouze Records in 1993, CD titled "For Hire". In 1994 we found ourselves without a lead singer and started auditioning. After finally finding a new singer (Dave Friday) in 1995 we started playing local clubs and writing new material. In Oct 1997 we started recording our second album titled "Grain". Shortly after final touches were put on the disk Ken decided to pursue other opportunities. With the addition of a new drummer (Steve Escola) in 1998 we decided to change the name of the band to "Penny Dreadful". In 1999 we again found ourselves without a singer and a drummer. With another name change the 3 of us started writing and recording new songs with the help of the greatest multi-track recording software ever called n-Track Studio (www.fasoft.com) and a great drum program called Fruityloops Pro (www.fruityloops.com). |
