Artist History equally at home as an outsider living in obscurity or as an insider basking in the harsh unrealities of the pop world, widoff has tortured himself for years to make music and multimedia that issues from the heart of this tragic time. although he occasionally shows up backstage (recreating the sounds from David Bowie's seminal recordings for Bowie's 2002 tour, or helping U2 on their ZooTV and POP tours), most of the time he works at home in self-imposed isolation. widoff studied music under vivian fine, bill dixon, joel chadabe, allen shawn, lionel novak, lou calabro, and milford graves. he has made music for film, television, theater, and dance. a veteran of numerous obscure musical projects (peck slip, scissors, memorial garage, etc.) weak is widoff's first full-fledged solo effort. widoff practices tai chi, is politically active, and currently lives with his dog rompu in upstate new york.
