    Artist description
Ugly, pretty, rich, thick and creamy. Like a chocolate shake with razor blades on the bottom. Like a simile desperately in search of a mixed metaphor. Just have a listen and decide for yourself. If you have the time, send us an e-mail.

    Artist History
Mark David, William Tabanou and Jason Lee first began playing together in 1991, while they all were still in high school. Over the years, these three formed the core of several Texas-based bands. In April of '98, they teamed up with Barry Whittaker to form The Agency. Since then, the band has scored 2 feature films ("Sweet Thing" - 1999 & "What I Like About You" - 1999), contributed songs to various soundtracks, finished their debut CD, "Drowning Lessons", and managed to actually play a few gigs. January 2000 found the boys in Park City, UT, opening for Grammy award winner Shawn Colvin during the Sundance Film Fest. **NOVEMBER 2000** Everyone has successfully relocated to Los Angeles. Currently working on the score to another indie flick, "The Duo", which will be produced by The Other Brothers (freshly Grammy-fied due to their work on Santana's "Supernatural" disc.). Look for new tracks within the next 45 days.

    Press Reviews
"They are definitely NOT your typical Austin rock and roll band... A strong debut that proves you don't have to sound like Stevie Ray Vaughan to play music in Austin." -- Tom Topkoff, FALLOUT.COM; "This is a band that can probably cause quite a stir and achieve extensive radio airplay, due to their catchy melodies, memorable choruses and lush arrangements between watery to overdriven guitars, swingy drums, sparse piano interludes, and rugged male vocals." -- Matthew Heilman, STARVOX.NET; RE: "Blue Movie" on The Nature of Gothic: Whitby Compilation, available at www.gothicnature.co.uk: "A paradigm of a true band. Fully developed in every way possible, they have built a solid foundation of ability and experience; their music is nothing short of professional. Smooth, moving, and able to tantalize any dance floor..." -- DJ Xian, STARVOX.NET; "Just in case the experimental crowd thought they were left out, The Agency provide a scratchy, noisy opening with Blue Movie. Adding squealing guitars over smoother chords with just a touch of feedback, the slower beat smoothes it out so you enjoy it more. The chorus, 'You are so precious now you're not,' is one I can't get out of my head." -- Marcus Pan, LEGENDS MAGAZINE
