    Artist History
Skuzz is based in the middle Blue Mountains and Penrith area (Australia:) Skuzz was formed mid - year in '96. Existing members Jeremy Brown and Mark Graham formed the band though school. Starting off under the name "rarest bloom". Only making 60 copies there first demo, it sold quickly and wasn't re-released. The demo was a simple 4-track recording recorded at their school music room with a teacher helping record the demo. "yeah, this demo sucks!"- Jeremy. Their first ever live gig was next, "what a disaster" mark laughed. "We played at a school camp, and we just went on a huge walk, everyone was buggered.Lucas had electric drums and I was screaming into a pair of headphones, it was terrible." Later on the first gig was on the schule, played at the Emu - plains public school with international christian band Brotherhood Lush......after this gig saw the departure bass player Andrew Cork and the bands name. Without a bass player they continued on with the new name "Peamic". Which was quickly changed to Lavish. Bass less the band continued on the writting untill new arrival Chris Atwood from former band Aphrodisiac joined. He came and left. The nextbass player on the list was Wez Von grabill, who lived in the US for most of his life. Joining the band with his love brang a new style and change to the bands direction. New songs such as prehenshile, fragile, d.c diver, i am who i am, bulb and pleade with you, added to the list of new songs for "simple toy" (Another new name:). After his arrival the band made friends with fellow band Clobassi and played some more major gigs with there new mates. Once again not happy with the name they changed it finally to Skuzzelbut (guy from south park) which was later changed to Skuzz. In '98 the first major gig was at Vertex indoor stake park where they giged with Offset, Clobassi and Beaverloop. "looking back on it, it was a new starting point"...... The next gig was at Melrose hall, the line up was; Emodium, The hassle brigade and Clobassi. The band had now had some reconization. Playing there 3rd major at Springwood; "it was a bit of a crowd pleaser, though only with 50 - 60, most of 'em where jumping around" - Mark "I believe this is the best we have ever played, we really enjoyed that night and yes I would love to play to there agian, that would be grand"...... More tracks were continuing to be made, the songs "U suck jelly fish" and "yesterday's turned tommorrow" showed a different style of Skuzz. These two songs along with Pleade to you featured inthe winning band competition effort to win 10 hours free recording and release another demo, on c.d. "This is going to be fun, we hope that people will buy out tunes and enjoy our music that we want to share with others"...... Although Wez featured in the demo, he has now left. Alreading new songs such as Utopia and Drainage are on the way with a whole new host of songs........ "We plan to start again , maybe with Mr. Grumpy, but we'll have to wait and see, we want tosell our c.d and get some publicity on it."
