    Artist History
John's sporadic music career goes way back to performing solo as a singer/songwriter and also as a tenor saxophonist/guitarist with various rock & blues bands in New York City & Long Island; Boulder, Colorado; Miami, Florida; and Southern California. John has done a fair share of studio work on radio commercials among other professional projects. These days, however, he works more on musical composition than performing live, although he's been spotted singing in Karaoke clubs around the country. George Xouris has been a drummer and backup singer with John's band on and off since they were pre-teens. Both were classically trained musicians as children. John doesn't play too many live gigs today as often as he once did because this time he wants to stay married! George, on the other hand, professionally plays drums and sings with two bands every chance he gets mostly in the New York metropolitan area. This year he's been seen jamming with up and coming blues artist, "Storm," at a local club in downtown Los Angeles. He takes more risks than John since he's only been married twice!

BANKER OR MUSICIAN? - Newport Beach, CA (News clip) - John Cavadias claims that he never enjoyed the bohemian life style of working with a road band, but you wouldn't know it seeing him perform on stage. Preferring to work 9 to 5 jobs as a banker is John's public confession to anyone who'll ask him why he hardly performs live. He also admits that nightclub work never interested him at heart, though he did plenty of live work years ago in New York, among other cities -- but always after banker's hours. Don't bother trying to compare John's music with anyone in the music scene, past or present. His musical style is almost impossible to categorize into any representative genre, and so are his attitudes toward earning a living. John adamantly states, "The illusion of stability, a steady income, and a good-paying day job always appealed to me more than playing the part of a struggling musician." An "illusion," however, is exactly what it all may have proved to be. He lost his "stability" amid his rapid rise up the corporate ladder in late 1989. After almost a year of unemployment, John realized he might as well be creating the music that could sooth his weary soul. So he did something he hadn't done in years: picked up his old acoustic guitar and summoned his muse for new words with melodies. It wasn't long before he found himself revitalized singing out those introspective lyrics from his melodiously voice in front of live audiences in venues from family restaurants to small concert halls. Yet, somewhat in denial, he still insists, as he always has, "Working as a banker is vital for the sake of my economic survival." Many who hear John believe he should be thinking otherwise: as one enthusiastic fan alleged, "This guy should drop his pencils once and for all and stick with his best talents: entertaining our world!"
