Press Reviews
"Before a note had been played, the crowd had already received its instructions. 'You better come on down here and stand up,' commanded the Electrophonic Foundation's guitarist/vocalistScott Chaffin, but no one did. 'If you don't thinkhe's going to come down there, then you've got another thing coming to you,' warned Seann McAnally, the Foundation's other guitarist/vocalist, and at once Chaffin was, indeed, on thefloor gathering troops for the rock to come. Dressed in dapper shirts and ties (though no dancing girls appeared), those who heeded the callwere mesmerized as if they were the flock of somekind of freaky rock 'n' roll evangelist. The bandmanaged to work the words Electrophonic and Foundation into nearly every song, with the notable exception being a cover of 'Whole Lotta Love.' 'We're just kind of raping the blues on Martin Luther King Day, and it's kind of disgusting,' confessed McAnally, and it was, butonly in the best, most wonderful sense of the word. At the end of the set, the band invited mostof the audience on stage for the kind of masscraziness that had been barely contained all night." - PitchWeekly (www.pitch.com) |
