Artist History Biography Vincent Wells is a gifted singer and songwriter from Annapolis, Maryland. He is the youngest of six children who were taught early on to love and support each other’s efforts wholeheartedly. Vince’s family nurtured his vocal talent at an early age; he has been driven to perfect his craft ever since!Growing up, Vince was a shy reserved individual who recognized his God given talent, but rarely shared it. However, there were family gatherings, and local performances where many realized his ability was something special. After high school, Vince attended junior college, where he majored in financial accounting. Determined to continue his education, he enlisted in the Air Force to help with finances. This would be a turning point in his music career.In 1991, while stationed in South Florida, he decided to audition for the Air Force’s worldwide talent showcase “Tops In Blue”, to silence some friends and co-workers who doubted his talent. To their amazement, his rendition of “Babyface’s””Sunshine” convinced not only them, but the show’s casting agents, he was the “Top Male Vocalist” and “Best of Show”. This opened opportunities to perform at some of Miami’s top nightspots, and culminated with the “Best Male Vocalist” award for 1991 at South Florida’s largest talent showcase, “Search for the Stars”.A devastating hurricane precluded Vince from joining the Air Force tour that year, and forced him to relocate to the Washington DC area. Those trying times tested his spirit, but not his passion; it remained solid. Pursuit of his goals never wavered because he knew blessings sometimes take unconventional form.In the fall of 1992, Vince’s career took new shape. He was taken under the wing of producer Stephen Carter, who suggested he continue to perfect his vocal skills, but stressed “staying power” in the business would depend on his writing as well. Vince heeded Carter’s advice; together they’ve crafted more than 40 songs. Notably, the single “For Your Love” was featured one of Washington DC’s most popular radio shows.Under Carter’s guidance, Vince has covered an array of musical genres. While R&B and adult contemporary are his forte, his work ethic is relentless, and will undoubtedly move him to the forefront. His songs are written and delivered from the heart.
