Artist History
“The only thing that stands between a man and what he wants from life is often merely the will to try it and the faith to believe that it is possible”The story of a rock band:Split 11 was formed in 1999 when friends and cowriters Dan E. C. and Ruben Makepeace felt it was time to set out on their own and take control of their musical lives. They had been writing and recording for a project with MCA records when “artistic differences” came between the members. Since that time they have been recording in their home studio in Nashville Tn. with the help of guitarist Ron Marks. The music is considered to be aggressive mainstream rock, very much to the liking of todays young music fans. Dan and Rubens music has caught the attention of major record labels and major radio stations in Florida and on MP3.com. Thier songwriting talents can be heard on the debut album from MCA recording artist “Crushdown”. They have also performed with such acts as SevenDust, CandleBox, CowboyMouth, Bare Jr. Together Split 11 brings a powerful blend of guitars drums and harmony to the live audience, they name such acts as The Beatles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Cheap Trick and Nirvana as their musical influences. Our goal:To bring the house down everytime we play, never to leave an audience disappointed, but leaving with the feeling that something great just came to town and kicked our ass. |
