Artist History Jackie Hibbard and Jorge Castillo started this band in March 2000. Jackie Hibbard and Jorge Castillo are the founding members of Soapbox. They are based out of Austin, TX and they started this band after Sunset Heights broke up in 1999. Their first official debut was at the SXSW KLBJ Schmooze Fest where they excited the crowd and left them cheering for more. The band was excited to see such a good turn out and response. They are currently shopping for a new record deal in L.A. and just recently finished an 8 song demo at Pedernales recording studio, which is owned by Willie Nelson.

Group Members Band Members Jackie Hibbard - Guitar, VocalsStarted playing guitar at age 13. Started singing professionally about 5 years ago. Influenced heavily by blues players and singers. Recorded with the Saywhat? band in 1996 regional release. Recorded 2 albums with Sunset Heights, Medicine Hat 1998, and self titled Sunset Heights 1999. Jorge Castillo - Guitar, VocalsJorge played with the Mo'Shiney Band for a few years, then played on Sunset Heights' first National release, Texas Tea. He later joined Sunset Heights in early 1997 with Jackie and recorded Medicine Hat and self titled Sunset Heights. Joe Frenchwood - Drums, percussionJoe is a graduate from the High School of Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, TX, with a major in instrumental. Joe played with Jerry Lightfoot and recorded 2 albums with him. Not long after that he recorded 2 records with the Texas power trio Sunset Heights. Sunset Heights was signed to Viceroy/Relativity and toured the U.S. and Europe during 1993-1995. He recorded 2 albums with the Jay Hooks Band in 1997 and 1999. Since then, Joe has done lots of session work with numerous bands and established himself as one of the best drummers around the state of Texas. Steven Ray Will - Bass, backup vocalsAn amazing bass player and singer from Texas. Has played with several bands and has fronted his own band. Recorded a record with Last American Virgin in 1999. Steven also played with Dead Horse for a while.
