Artist History
parker began modestly with jams between guitarist Jonathan Schneider and drummer Justin Andera. They soon moved to Milwaukee from their nearby hometown and spent nearly two years in search of musicians to compliment and complete the group. In the summer of 1999 they found singer/guitarist Seth Watson. Bassist Eric Sheffield was added a few months later. parker was born. The four immediately began shaping their unique blend of edgy pop sounds, and within months, hit the local club scene. They rocked venues such as The Globe and The Rave, appearing with local acts Pet Engine and Front of Truck. Their versatile and catchy tunes quickly won over audiences and turned the heads of peers in the music industry (landing them a slot at The Globe's "Best New Band of the Year" show). They have been featured on both of Milwaukee's top rock stations: Rock 102.1 and Lazer 103. After a string of club dates in the early months of 2000, parker decided to shift gears. "The response we were getting to our old stuff was great, but we felt something was missing," says Schneider. This led to months of writing, rehearsing, and reinventing the band. "We're just taking a new approach to our music," Watson adds. "It was sort of an epiphany we went through...a period of self-exploration that led to our new sounds." The results of this hiatus are well worth it. Touching on more intimate subject matter and exploring new sonic textures, parker is gearing up to unleash their signature sounds to the public. |
