Press Reviews
Review of "Café Paris" by Godsofmusic.com: "Café Paris (Edit)” by Mukai, a down tempo style piece. I found “Café Paris (Edit)” very appealing to listen to the first time, and it hasn’t worn out my MP3 player yet. The structure, sequencing, samples, engineering, and quality are top rate. The piece was very dreamy, slow, percussive and sensual. The guitar sample they have at the beginning really set the tone of the song, and the emphasis of the slow percussion were enough to relax and mellow right out… a perfect song for a chill-out room. I could almost imagine sitting on a patio at a café in Paris, drinking a latte, and watching all the passer-bys with their big fashionable hats and their fur trimmed clothing walking by in slow-motion. It’s hard to find a song that can put you somewhere else, and “Café Paris” did that for me.I tip my hat to Mukai, because it is a rare opportunity to listen to a song that can place you in a different place than where you actually are. Get down to the “Café Paris” with Mukai. This song is going into my electronica collection, and should find its way into yours. 9/10" |
