Artist History
Broz Rowland, producer, songwriter, composer (see also Rowland Brothers/Broz Rowland/Bees) uses this moniker to put out his instrumental/orchestral musings. Many of the pieces on this page are from an album released in the early nineties. "The inspiration for these pieces came following a two week trip I took through the southwest in a small plane in 1987 with a pilot friend. Our trip included visits to Canyon De Chelly, Black Mesa, Sedona, Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Lake Powell, and The Colorado Plateau. A good part of our trip was logged on video with a camera I operated hand-held in the cabin while mixing images from a camera mounted (with duct tape) on the wing. Needless to say, that video is just a personal memento of our trip, but it inspired me to want to produce a professional video. Three weeks after our return, my friend was killed when his plane went down in the San Isabella Forest. I wrote these pieces in his memory and in memory of one of the most outstanding and memorable trips of my life. The album released two years later is entitled Canyon Visions. Included in the descriptions of the songs are the screen treatments which were intended to go with the video, which hopefully, finances and time permitting, will one day be completed." |
