Artist description
Elston Gunnn is one of Florida's premier Americana roots rock groups. Band members singer/songwriter Jesse Bellamy (22) and lead guitarist Noah Bellamy (20) grew up on the country music of their dad's group, the Bellamy Brothers, while drummer David Reffuse (22) and bassist Bob Massicotte (20) add both rock and jazz influences to the mix. The collective result is a truly American music. Originally called Burning Sky, the quartet changed its name to Elston Gunnn (a reference to a Bob Dylan pseudonym) after their showcase at SXSW in 1999, when the group discovered not just one, but two other bands who called themselves Burning Sky! In addition to SXSW, Elston Gunnn (yes, that’s 3 N’s in Gunnn) was selected to perform at the NEMO Music Conference in Boston and showcased at New York City's legendary CBGB in April 2000. The band has also performed at high profile regional and local events and has supported more established artists including The Mavericks, The Marshall Tucker Band and The Little River Band. In 1998, the group (as Burning Sky) released a three song EP, and is currently putting finishing touches on its first full-length release entitled “The Key To The Highway,” which the quartet expects to release in the early summer of 2000. |
