Artist History
Since entering into the professional arena in 2001, Alabaster Suitcase has performed weekly throughout the Southeast in some of the area's hottest clubs alongside the region's most talented acts. "It's been so cool to play with these bands that we've grown up watching and listening to for years. It just feels like such a privilege," says bassist John Stanton.
AS has always made it a point to write music that is not only creative and original, but relevant to their lives, and to the lives of others. Referring to the writing process, lyricist and lead vocalist Aaron Chappell says that, "I try to open myself up to write about issues going on in my life. I feel like I'm a pretty normal guy, and I think that most people go through the same stuff that I do, and can relate to our music."
This commitment to lyrical and musical integrity has crowned Alabaster Suitcase as winners of the Cingular Wireless Band Competition, and has allowed their music to be featured on radio stations throughout the
Southeast.
Alabaster Suitcase prides itself on being run like a family business. To
Aaron, Chris, and John, Alabaster Suitcase is about much more than music. "It's about friendship, and having an outlet to express our creativity. It's what we do, and who we are," remarks lead guitarist Chris Boyette.
