    Press Reviews
"My mates and I have been looking for music that evokes the sound/moods of such albums as The Cure's 'Disintegration', Steve and Russell Kilbey's 'Gilt Trip', The Church's bonus disc 'Bastard Universe'with the Hologram of Baal' album, early Pink Floyd and dystopic noises reminiscent of the movie 'Alien'. We have found what we're looking for in A BEAUTIFUL MACHINE. The new EP, HOME is beyond brilliant, soundscapes evoke vivid images of a space juggernaut, similar to 'Nostromo', shifting through ravaging worm holes, a dazzled crew gazing in wonder at distant space battles, stunned by a HOME that is covered in layers of thick, noxious mist-a dystopic world overrun and haunted by Aliens, who give out a sense of unimaginable eeriness. Yet, the sound of an ocean's waves lapping against a deserted beach signifies hope, what once was, and could have been. A BEAUTIFUL MACHINE have created a concert of alieness, a symphony of galactic mind-shake, never to be forgotten. This band are too good! Where staying on their ship for the time being. Nick King (Brisbane music fanatic). " ------ "simply amazing. It was hard for me to choose just one track from ABM as every song on the page is a journey down a different spiral and a ride on a different wave. this project is so entrancing that i should warn you: if you have a week constitution or your grasp on reality is a loose one, be careful, these songs may be take you somewhere that you may not know your way back from..." ... "One of the more exciting things about music in the last twenty years has been watching 'acoustic' / non-electronic musicians use their instruments and equipment in new ways to emulate the textures of electronic music. The result, from early pieces by Brian Eno and Robert Fripp to modern pieces such as this one, is music with an electronic feel, but a very organic, acoustic sound. Sort of like having your cake and eating it, really :) . This is a very minimal but beautiful piece utilising very few elements in a rich textural manner. The artist's description "watching the sun rise over a frosty street" is certainly very fitting for this ambient, guitar and organ based atmospheric bliss. Check out their other music if you have some moments.." "In an "attempt to achieve interstellar flight without a spacecraft," A Beautiful Machine marks the epitome of all things shoegazey. It's spacey and droney as can be. And, most importantly, the vocals are extra hazey. But it doesn't matter if you can't understand any of the lyrics; it's the feel of the music that counts. A Beautiful Machine does a fantastic job in that department with the help of heavy delay on the guitar and vocals. This is for the dedicated dream-pop fans down with Sianspheric and Ride. Solar Winds even features a cover of Ride's "Dreams Burn Down" for the last track. Absolutely gorgeous."
